Lucia Bedell, LMSW
When your child is struggling, it can be hard to know what they need or how best to help. You want them to have a place where they feel safe, understood, and accepted—and where they can express themselves in ways that feel natural to them.
Specialties & Approach
Lucia works with children and adolescents who may have difficulty expressing their emotions, communicating their needs, building confidence, or navigating life’s changes and challenges. With a warm, curious, and relationship-focused approach, she takes time to understand each child’s interests, experiences, strengths, relationships, and unique way of making sense of the world. Through connection, acceptance, creativity, and play, Lucia meets children where they are and creates a safe space for them to explore emotions, recognize their strengths, and grow at their own pace.
Experience & Education
Lucia has experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults in autism services, school settings, emergency shelter care, and community support programs. These experiences have strengthened her understanding that a young person’s well-being is influenced by their relationships, environment, and life experiences. Because of this, she values collaborating with parents, caregivers, and others involved in the child’s care when appropriate.
Lucia is a Licensed Master Social Worker in Texas and practices under the clinical supervision of Hollie Wilson, LCSW-S. She earned both her Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work from Texas Tech University. She continues to expand her training in play therapy as she supports children and families at BrightWay.
Outside of the Office
Outside the office, Lucia enjoys spending time with family and friends, crafting, reading, and finding creative ways to continue learning and growing.
